Firstly, as a valued member of the Rec Xpress community we would like to thank you for your understanding and support over the past 3 months.

We are super excited to be reopening our doors from 5am on Monday June 22 and below you will find information regarding the special conditions applicable to our facilities and expectations regarding members conduct. It’s important to note, a number of these restrictions are expected to only last for 4 weeks unless advised by the State Government or Fitness Australia.

CAPACITY LIMITS

On the 14th June, the State Government announced that in relation to fitness centres, multiple indoor ‘zones’ can be created within a larger indoor space.

‘Zones’ were not achievable at all Rec Xpress locations; however, as you can see our larger locations have increased capacity at any one time.

Note, staff and trainers are not included in these figures.

CLUB ACCESS AND BOOKING YOUR SESSION DURING PEAK TIMES

Members will be able to access all 6 Rec Xpress locations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Taking into account peak times and club capacity, it will be compulsory for you to book your session via our online booking system during Peak Times. The compulsory booking times for each club are as follows:

At all other times, you will not have to book to attend the gym. Our access system will track all attendances outside these Peak Times. Please note, the booking requirement may be subject to change.

UPDATED HYGIENE PROTOCOLS

As previously mentioned, we have increased our hygiene protocols and made changes to our gym floor to achieve social distancing requirements.

  • No towel, no workout. Always carry your workout towel and use appropriately. Rec Xpress work out towels are available to purchase at the gym office.
  • Use the hand sanitizer supplied upon entry.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly after your workout.
  • Members are required to wipe down equipment before and after use, using the disinfectant and wipes provided.
  • Social distancing rules apply throughout the gym premises.
  • Some equipment has been closed to achieve social distancing.
  • Shower facilities and the water fountain will be initially closed.
  • Daily professional cleans will return at all locations as well as regular staff cleans throughout the day.
  • Most importantly, if you feel unwell or have cold or flu like symptoms, stay home.

This will take everyone working together, following the rules and being mindful of their fellow members.

TIPS FOR RETURNING TO THE GYM

Here are some tips to help you return to the gym as smoothly as possible

  • Set up your online access to the booking system as soon as possible (see booking instructions below).
  • If you plan to attend during Peak Times, remember to book your session prior.
  • Be flexible with the time of day you train. E.g. working from home? Train at lunch time.
  • Keep your session to a maximum 45 minutes to ensure fairness to fellow members.
  • Warm up by walking to the gym.
  • Complete your cardio workouts outdoors if possible.
  • Stretch at home after your workout.
  • Visit our other locations which may have higher capacity/equipment levels.
  • Don’t forget your workout towel and a prefilled water bottle.
DIRECT DEBIT MEMBERS

Our first billing day upon re-opening will be Thursday, June 25.

Taking into account the last billing day prior to closure, all direct debit payments on June 25 will be reduced to credit the amount of days already paid.

Any member whose account is in arrears will not have the decrease applied to their June 25 billing.

If your payment details have changed over the past 3 months, please contact us to update these prior to June 25 to avoid rejection fees or access disruption.

PAID IN FULL MEMBERS

Your membership expiry date has been extended in lieu of the closure.

NOT READY TO RETURN AT THIS POINT?

This is completely understandable. We want you to feel comfortable when training at Rec Xpress. If you wish to extend your suspension until COVID-19 restrictions are reduced, simply contact your Home Club.

It’s important to note that COVID-19 remains a fluid situation that is open to changes out of our control. We will always prioritise our member and staff’s safety and work within the guidelines put forth by the Government.

BOOKING SYSTEM INSTRUCTIONS

To ensure the safety of members and our capacity limits are not exceeded during peak times, you will be required to book your session in advance to attend the gym. Your booking is made via the GymMaster Member Portal.

Sessions are 45 minutes long and start on the hour. Staff members will clean the gym 15 minutes prior to each 45-minute session. We still ask that our members wipe down equipment as per our usual Gym Etiquette.

Important information for GymMaster Member Portal

  • You must use the email address you signed up at the club to log in.
  • If you need assistance to update your email address or have any booking issues, please email your Home Club and we will try and help you as quickly as possible.

There are 2 ways to access your Member Portal – the GymMaster App or an Internet Browser:

Logging in using the GymMaster App
  1. Download the GymMaster App on your smart phone via the App Store or Google Play
  2. Click Forgot Password?
  3. Use the email address you originally signed up with at your Rec Xpress Home Club
  4. A password reset link will be emailed to you

Booking a session time (App)

  • When logged in, click the menu button at the top left and select Classes
  • Select Book in the bottom right
  • Choose your preferred Rec Xpress Location and select the 45min Access class
  • Lastly, select your preferred time and click Book.

You will immediately receive an email to confirm your booking.

Logging in using an Internet Browser
  1. Visit https://recxpress.gymmasteronline.com/portal/login
  2. Click Forgot Password?
  3. Use the email address you originally signed up with at your Rec Xpress Home Club

Booking a session time (Browser)

  • Click the blue Booking tile top centre of the page and select Book a Class
  • Choose your preferred Rec Xpress Location and select the 45min Access class
